Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), older brother of Fredo Cuomo, proclaims himself to be the savior of New Yorkers, and he is supposedly making good on his promise that he would put New York state prisoners to work manufacturing hand sanitizer. What a good deed! What a man!
Cuomo had a presser weeks ago where he excitedly spoke of putting the prisoners to work for the health and safety of all New Yorkers. His stated goal was to manufacture 100,000 gallons of “NYS Clean” hand sanitizer weekly and distribute it for free to schools, nursing homes, government agencies and other organizations in need.
But as we all know, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is a liar, a fraud, a huckster, a charlatan, and a fool, not necessarily in that order, and he proves it once again.
The state prisoners of the State of New York are not making hand sanitizers as Cuomo promised New Yorkers. They are repackaging hand sanitizer purchased from normal vendor sources and re-branding it with “NYS Clean” labels so the people will think actually Cuomo followed through with his claim.
Contrary to Cuomo’s lies, the state of New York does not have a production facility in any of their state prisons capable of manufacturing thousands of gallons a week of hand sanitizer. This production facility would have cost tens of millions of dollars to build, and it was just sitting there, unused, until it was needed now?
Really Cuomo? You can’t come up with a better lie than that with all the New Yorkers surrounding and protecting you? A records search indicates that the only mention of hand sanitizer being manufactured by state prisoners is when YOU mention it. There is no history of state prisons making hand sanitizer.
Yet Cuomo boasted that “NYS Clean” hand sanitizer would be a much better product then Purell’s sanitizer because “NYS Clean” would be 75% alcohol and have a pleasing floral scent.
Cuomo also touted the cost savings for New Yorkers by buying “NYS Clean”. “This is also much less expensive than anything the government could buy—a gallon bottle is $6.10, the 7-ounce bottle is $1.12 our cost, and then there’s a very small size… which is 84 cents. So it’s much cheaper for us to make it ourselves than to buy it on the open market“, boasts Cuomo.
“We are problem solvers, state of New York, Empire State, progressive capital of the nation,” Cuomo proudly stated after revealing NYS-Clean branded sanitizer.
But the truth comes out when a NY State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision source revealed that the sanitizer itself if being produced at an outside vendor and the prisoners are only bottling and labeling it.
The prisoners said their work is basically just “turning a nozzle” and filling gallon jugs with sanitizer. They are manufacturing nothing, but they are filling jugs 24/7 in three 8-hour shifts. The prisoners are paid $2/hour.
“We’re completely overworked. They treat us like shit” one prisoner declared. Some prisoners are working 116 hours each week.
Imagine that though. Prisoners (murderers, rapists, kidnappers, drug dealers, robbers, child molesters) think that they are not being treated fairly. Try and wrap your mind around that one.
